COVID 19 Update

Good morning to all of our families.

Following the announcements today from the government, we want to update you all on some of the guidance and how it affects school:
* Students with symptoms should self isolate for 14 days.
* Students living in a household with anyone who has symptoms should self isolate with all family members for 14 days.
* We will be stopping all visits, community visits and keeping all students in school to do our bit for social distancing.
* The year 6 and year 11 transition events will go ahead this evening as planned.
* We will update today on whether planned activities will be taking place or not- these are activities where families or members of the public come to school.
* If students display any symptoms during the school day, families will be contacted and asked to collect them.
* Families will not be penalised for student absence linked to self isolation as the government has allowed us to use a special ‘exceptional circumstances’ code.
* Students with underlying health conditions, such as those identified as requiring a flu vaccine will be asked to self isolate for 12 weeks from this weekend.
* Learning activity packs will be created and sent home and online activities will be shared.
* We will be contacting all families to confirm contact details today.
* Over the coming days we will assess staffing levels based upon the government guidance to plan in advance any changes to the normal running of the school.

we know that this is a strange time for all of us, so please do not hesitate to contact school for any information and guidance.
